When you’re promoting your Amazon products online don’t use link shorteners like Bitly or TinyURL.

Amazon has built-in short form links that don’t look spammy and align with their terms and conditions.

Most of the time readers/customers won’t even see the url link itself, they will just click the product image or hyperlink.

This one is especially easy to fall victim to.

When promoting a product you aren’t allowed to use the product image, ratings, reviews or prices directly from Amazon’s website.

I suggest using your favorite photo editor, like Canva to create a simple mock-up product image, this way you can customize the image and make it your own style.

Instead of giving the price of the product, maybe create a button that says “Check Price on Amazon” — this adds a level of curiosity and intrigue to your product as well.

According to the FTC every website that is promote products via affiliate marketing needs to contain a disclosure stating you are participating in Amazon Associates.

I’ve always found this helpful to put near the top of my article or product listing to make sure there’s no confusion.

They make it super easy to just add the URL’s of all the places you’ll be promoting products, better to add more sites just to cover your bases later on.

As silly as this one sounds, it’s legit.

You can’t incentivize your readers/viewers to click on your affiliate links.

Don’t offer them money, prizes, gift cards or anything else in exchange for their click.
