Follow this simple yet effective Blueprint to get started!

• Choosing a Niche

  • First things first, choosing a Niche.

  • Think of your Niche as your main topic you’ll be promoting products in

    • Some examples include:

    • Finance

    • Cooking

    • Sports

    • Outdoors/Nature

    • Cars

    • Real Estate

    • Home Improvement

    • Music

    • Fitness

  • I always suggest choosing a passion topic, something you can take about for hours and NEVER get tired of.

• Choosing your Affiliate Program

  • For starters, choosing a platform such as Amazon Associates, Clickbank and Fiverr are all excellent platforms with high approval acceptance.

  • As a complete beginner I tend to lean my students more towards Amazon Associates because you can get approved with just a social media account and virtually no following.

  • Amazon requires you to make 3 qualifying sales within a 180 day period to stay in their program.

  • Read a complete in-depth guide provided by Shopify

• Creating content that attracts clicks (blogs, videos, social media)

  • This maybe the hardest challenge for beginners when getting started with affiliate marketing.

  • If you operate a blog/website and you already have traffic/visitors coming in monthly that’s a perfect way to promote your links.

  • If you are already creating on content on your Social Media account, that’s a great place to start.

  • Even if you have a smaller following you can still make money from affiliate marketing.

    • Some examples include:

      • LinkedIn: Create a post on your main feed or join a group that aligns with your Niche to promote your links

      • Pinterest: Create pins surrounding the types of products you want to promote. Link affiliate products in your pins

      • Facebook: Share your experience with a product on your main feed and/or Facebook group

      • YouTube: Add your affiliate links into the video description below the video

      • Instagram: Place affiliate links in your description/captions of your photos/reels

      • X: Start a conversation about a specific product, then link to it below your comments

    • You don’t have to show your face on social media to make money with affiliate marketing.

    • Faceless YouTube channels & Social Media accounts still can make a lot of money online, it’s all about marketing and product placement.

  • Driving traffic to your affiliate links

    • Driving traffic basically means how many eyeballs can you get on your affiliate links.

    • Most people think you need to pay for ads in order to get views/clicks, which can be lucrative.

    • I like to focus on free (organic) traffic on social media. By focusing on one product at a time and starting a meaningful conversation surrounding your experience.

    • It’s possible to sell/promote products you haven’t owned or physically tried yourself, which is where Amazon comes in.

    • Using the power of Amazon’s brand you can leverage the reviews and pictures others post to help secure the click.

  • Tracking results and optimizing performance

    • Every platform should have built in tracking capabilities. Understanding your analytics helps you to make informed decisions and plan your growth strategy.

    • Double down on what is working, meaning if you are getting clicks/sales using a certain copywriting method, do more of that.

    • Testing and more testing is the name of the game. It’s hard to know what methods may work with your audience if you don’t attempt several different angles.

    • You can try posting your links at different times of day, changing up the creative (ad copy) and the verbiage of the post to gauge interest and increase click thru rates.

  • Scaling up once you make your first sale

    • Once you taste the Victory of the first sale you know this works!

    • I can’t describe how that feeling of making your first sale online feels, it’s pretty surreal to know you have a taste of success and it’s addictive!

    • It’s important to really understand what works, why you were able to make that first sale and how you can repeat that process.

    • As you gain more experience you may want to test the waters with paid ads on Facebook, X or Instagram.

    • My rule of thumb personally is spending between $1-$3 a day until you find the winning combination. It’s enough to give you some data about your target audience but not enough to break the bank.
