How to Start Affiliate Marketing with NO Money

If this sounds too good to be true like most things…. Thankfully, it’s not!

You can actually start affiliate marketing with zero dollars, no kidding.

Let’s break it down..

• The myth that you need money to start

  • Sure, money can help expedite the process with running Facebook or Google paid ads to your affiliate links, but that’s not necessary in the beginning

  • It’s important to learn the foundational skills of marketing and learning who your target audience is.

  • Let’s say you want to promote a new golf club bag but the people seeing your post/link are video game enthusiasts, all that effort is going to fall flat since the interests don’t really line up.

• Free traffic sources

  • As a beginner it’s easy to be overwhelmed and frustrated with trying to figure out how/where to promote your links.

  • Utilizing the power of Social Media can be a great starting point. I would highly recommend posting on the following social media platforms, for free.

  1. Facebook

  2. Nextdoor

  3. LinkedIn

  4. Pinterest

  5. YouTube

  6. Quora

  7. Instagram

  8. Reddit

  9. X

  10. TikTok

  • Just remember to use some basic common sense when it comes to posting your affiliate links on these platforms.

  • If you are coming across as spammy or salesy nobody is going to click, you’ll need to provide value and give someone a reason engage.

• How to find affiliate programs with free sign-ups

  • The vast majority of brands affiliate programs are free to sign up. That’s the beauty that it doesn’t cost any money to get started.

  • One recommendation is use the same email address for all of the affiliate programs you sign-up for. This way you’re able to keep track of all your logins, no matter how many platforms you use.

  • To find if a brand has an affiliate program, go to their website and scroll all the way down to the Footer menu, look for: Affiliate Program, Partner Program, Become an Affiliate.

• Creating content without a website

  • Creating content doesn’t necessarily mean you have to show your face on camera.

  • You can create faceless videos or even just record voice overs of yourself talking about a product.

  • Leveraging social media is a proven method to show off how a product works, if it’s a physical product. Views like to be engaged with what you are promoting so the more you can show yourself using it, the better.

  • Posting on your regular social media feeds is also a fantastic way to get started. Since you’re already scrolling along, why not create a new post promoting your affiliate links and give a brief review or how the product/service has benefitted you/make your life easier.

• The importance of consistency and patience

  • This one maybe the MOST difficult to master. It’s not easy to be patient when we all want results immediately.

  • It’s human nature to feel that instant gratification, but you have to remember building an online business is something to take seriously and it should be treated as such.

  • The more time/effort you put into growing your business the more mistakes you’ll make, which is how it’s supposed to be!

  • Whatever you do, DON’T GIVE UP!
