I bought my domain for $1 on GoDaddy. It was a simple business name that sounded professional. I didn’t have any experience so I was a bit nervous spending money on something I couldn't touch, but it changed the way I viewed online business and thus my side hustle addiction was born.

Domain flipping is like buying and selling baseball cards. You buy website names (domains) when they're cheap. Then you sell them to people for more money. It's a simple process but not always easy. Choosing the right domain is the hardest part in my opinion.

Domain flipping takes patience and practice. But you can turn $1 into $99 like I did. Start small, learn as you go, and be patient.

Make sure to do your research with free tools like Google Trends to find trending topics you can reference your domain name around.

Remember: I started with $1 and no experience. If I can do it, so can you. Your first domain purchase could be the beginning of your side business.

Step 1: Find a cheap domain

• Go to GoDaddy

• Look for domains that cost $1 to $5

• Pick names that sound like real businesses might want them

• You don’t need the email, website or security options, just the domain name

I bought "Dadwrk.com" for $1 because I thought I could originally sell it to BrandBucket and make a nice profit. After BrandBucket rejected it most likely because the name work was misspelled (on purpose) I listed it for sale on GoDaddy.

📈 How I Made It Worth More

Step 2: Make the domain look valuable

• Create a simple one-page website via GoDaddy

• Add a "For Sale" page with your contact info

• Add a simple logo & business description to your landing page

Step 3: List it for sale

• Put your domain on Afternic

• Set a price higher than what you paid

• Write a clear description of why the domain is useful

• Offer suggestions of what the domain could be used for

💬 Finding the Right Buyer

Step 4: Wait and respond to offers

• Be patient - it might take weeks or months

• Answer all emails from buyers quickly

• Be willing to negotiate on price

• Don’t get discourage if nobody reaches out in the first couple of weeks

💸 The $99 Sale

Here's exactly what happened:

• Buyer contacted me through Afternic

• The offered the Buy it Now price of $99

• Afternic handled the money transfer safely

• Afternic took out their fees, profit was $87 out of $99

📚 Lessons I Learned

What worked:

• Short, easy-to-remember names

• Names that sound like real businesses

• Being patient and polite
